Classic Aussie Burger
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 Tip Top Grill House Classic Seeded Burger Buns
- 4 beef patties
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 slices beetroot
- 4 slices tomato
- 8 lettuce leaves
- 4 tbsp tomato sauce
- 4 tbsp BBQ sauce
- Optional: 2 onions, sliced
- Optional: 4 eggs
METHOD:
- Cook the patties: Heat a BBQ or pan over medium–high heat. Cook beef patties for 3–5 minutes each side, or until cooked to your liking. In the last minute, place cheese on top to melt.
- Cook onion (optional)
- For sliced onion: Cook in a pan with a little oil over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until softened and lightly golden.
- For caramelised onion: Warm through until heated.
- Cook eggs (optional): Fry eggs in a pan until the whites are set but yolks are still soft (or to your preference).
- Toast buns: Lightly toast the buns until warm.
- Assemble: On the base bun, layer lettuce, tomato, beetroot, and the beef patty with melted cheese. Top with onion and egg (if using).
- Drizzle with tomato sauce and BBQ sauce, then finish with the top bun.
