Classic Aussie Burger

INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 Tip Top Grill House Classic Seeded Burger Buns
  • 4 beef patties
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices beetroot
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 8 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 4 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • Optional: 2 onions, sliced
  • Optional: 4 eggs
METHOD:
  1. Cook the patties: Heat a BBQ or pan over medium–high heat. Cook beef patties for 3–5 minutes each side, or until cooked to your liking. In the last minute, place cheese on top to melt.
  2. Cook onion (optional)
  3. For sliced onion: Cook in a pan with a little oil over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until softened and lightly golden.
  4. For caramelised onion: Warm through until heated.
  5. Cook eggs (optional): Fry eggs in a pan until the whites are set but yolks are still soft (or to your preference).
  6. Toast buns: Lightly toast the buns until warm.
  7. Assemble: On the base bun, layer lettuce, tomato, beetroot, and the beef patty with melted cheese. Top with onion and egg (if using).
  8. Drizzle with tomato sauce and BBQ sauce, then finish with the top bun.
