Crispy Chicken Burger
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 Tip Top Grill House Classic Burger Buns
- 4 chicken thigh fillets
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup plain flour
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of pepper
- 4 slices cheese
- 8 lettuce leaves
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 8–12 pickle slices
- Oil for frying
METHOD:
- Marinate the chicken: Place chicken in a bowl with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best results).
- Prepare coating: In a separate bowl, combine flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and pepper.
- Coat the chicken: Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture, pressing lightly so it sticks.
- Cook the chicken: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook chicken for 5–7 minutes per side, or until golden, crispy, and cooked through. Drain on paper towel.
- Toast the buns: Lightly toast the burger buns until warm and slightly crisp.
- Assemble: Spread mayonnaise on the base of each bun. Add lettuce, crispy chicken, cheese, pickles, and finish with the top bun. Serve immediately.
