Crispy Chicken Burger

INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 Tip Top Grill House Classic Burger Buns
  • 4 chicken thigh fillets
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 4 slices cheese
  • 8 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 8–12 pickle slices
  • Oil for frying
METHOD:
  1. Marinate the chicken: Place chicken in a bowl with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for best results).
  2. Prepare coating: In a separate bowl, combine flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and pepper.
  3. Coat the chicken: Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture, pressing lightly so it sticks.
  4. Cook the chicken: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook chicken for 5–7 minutes per side, or until golden, crispy, and cooked through. Drain on paper towel.
  5. Toast the buns: Lightly toast the burger buns until warm and slightly crisp.
  6. Assemble: Spread mayonnaise on the base of each bun. Add lettuce, crispy chicken, cheese, pickles, and finish with the top bun. Serve immediately.
